I’m extremely excited to be joining the fantastic team at the Alpine School for Student Leadership. The school offers such a unique opportunity for year 9s to learn through experience, take on real challenges and build lasting relationships, all the while being inspired by the school’s awesome alpine setting.

A healthy curiosity and a passion for taking on challenges has forged the path that has lead me to teaching at the Alpine School. A childhood in the wheat belt of Western Australia and a love for riding my bike led to adventures in Germany learning a new language and culture. My passion for teaching grew with my first appointment teaching English to refugee students from Afghanistan, Iraq and Africa. I have also taught Australian students German, and now look forward to working with students from all over Victoria.

Away from work I have a love for the outdoors that I share with my wife and two young boys. I still love riding one of my many bikes, or in winter a day on skis. Recently I have begun learning to fly a plane, which has been the realisation of a life long dream and a great challenge.

I am really looking forward to working with students at the Alpine School and supporting them on their transformational journey.

School For Student Leadership

School for Student Leadership is a Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) initiative offering a unique residential education experience for year nine students. The curriculum focuses on personal development and team learning projects sourced from students' home regions. There are four campuses in iconic locations across Victoria. The Alpine School Campus is located at Dinner Plain in the Victorian Alps. Snowy River Campus is near the mouth of the Snowy River at Marlo in east Gippsland. The third site is adjacent to Mount Noorat near Camperdown in Victoria’s Western District, and is called Gnurad-Gundidj. After consultation with the local aboriginal community, this name represents both the indigenous name of the local area and an interpretation of the statement "belonging to this place". Our fourth and newest campus, Don Valley Campus is located at Don Valley in the Yarra Ranges.
