Do you know about some of the Community Learning Projects that the teams have developed?

During Term 1 2021 the following Community Learning Projects (CLP) have been developed by each of the School Teams attending the Alpine School Campus as part of their School for Student Leadership Program. These CLPs relate to their home and school communities.

  • Beechworth Secondary College - Establishing a produce swap to raise money for the ‘Buy a bale foundation’.
  • Euroa Secondary College - Holding a community costume fun run to raise money for their local community.
  • Horsham College - Provide support for their local Meals on Meals through fundraising events at their school.
  • Princes Hill Secondary College - Holding a movie night to promote community connectedness.
  • Viewbank College -Construct a bike pump track to promote outdoor activities
  • Benalla P-12 College  - Planning to run sport clinics at local primary schools, to get young children off technology.
  • Reservoir High School - Working with Year 3 and 4 students to become more self-aware of thoughts and emotions
  • Thornbury High School  - Producing an art collage, to show perspectives on Covid 19.
  • Numurkah Secondary College  - Holding a ‘colours run’ fundraiser to raise money towards their school production.

School For Student Leadership

School for Student Leadership is a Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) initiative offering a unique residential education experience for year nine students. The curriculum focuses on personal development and team learning projects sourced from students' home regions. There are four campuses in iconic locations across Victoria. The Alpine School Campus is located at Dinner Plain in the Victorian Alps. Snowy River Campus is near the mouth of the Snowy River at Marlo in east Gippsland. The third site is adjacent to Mount Noorat near Camperdown in Victoria’s Western District, and is called Gnurad-Gundidj. After consultation with the local aboriginal community, this name represents both the indigenous name of the local area and an interpretation of the statement "belonging to this place". Our fourth and newest campus, Don Valley Campus is located at Don Valley in the Yarra Ranges.
