I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work at the Alpine School Campus. It is located in a very special part of the Victorian Alps and the team of staff who I work with are all committed and highly capable. They too, also share a love for the outdoors and their local environment. Working with students from across the State, brings a range of life experiences to the school, whether it be from a country or city perspective, our students are all very special.

I have been involved in the Alpine School Program since 2001 and I can’t think of a better teaching job for me. I love living and working in the alpine environment in Dinner Plain. My passion is inspiring young people to get the best out of themselves during their time at our school. As the curriculum co-ordinator I relish the opportunity to work with a group of staff to create a program each term that enables students to learn, experience and grow. This occurs through students being challenged and supported through a curriculum that focusses on the needs of young people today.

I'm relatively new to the teaching game, having completed my Post-graduate Diploma of Education at LaTrobe University Wodonga in 2004, and to have been given the opportunity to work here after such a short time within the educational system is an honour.

School For Student Leadership

School for Student Leadership is a Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) initiative offering a unique residential education experience for year nine students. The curriculum focuses on personal development and team learning projects sourced from students' home regions. There are four campuses in iconic locations across Victoria. The Alpine School Campus is located at Dinner Plain in the Victorian Alps. Snowy River Campus is near the mouth of the Snowy River at Marlo in east Gippsland. The third site is adjacent to Mount Noorat near Camperdown in Victoria’s Western District, and is called Gnurad-Gundidj. After consultation with the local aboriginal community, this name represents both the indigenous name of the local area and an interpretation of the statement "belonging to this place". Our fourth and newest campus, Don Valley Campus is located at Don Valley in the Yarra Ranges.
